Dear big brothers and sisters,

Since the camera of my wife (Minolta Dynax 5) has been damaged by a serious drop last week, may I ask for your valuable advice on whether it is ought to acquire a new film based camera body or not.

You know, film based market is dimishing and most of people are switching to DC or DSLR. However, my wife is still not satisfying the images produced by current digital technology after experienced a few DCs results.

Besides, is it worthwhile to buy a Dynax 7 at US$399 as a upgrade (from B&H) ? The major reason is that my wife owned several minolta optics and accessories and she don"t want to invest on a whole new system (neither Nikon or Canon.) Sorry, we"ve made some branding preference here.

*香港至NET超人* 網路會員	3) 2004/08/23 16:15 有要求就要付鈔啦, 值唔值就只有你先至知囉. 我唔會再投資係135機鏡, 除非只是買來收藏, 有錢都買120/45機, 呢ｄ先係波.... 不過, 只花四百美元, 不夠買DSLR, 買部不湯不水的DC, 日常用就最方便, 認真拍攝及放大相, 就會很粗糙.
henrykwl 網路會員	4) 2004/08/23 16:23 Thanks 吉川條庫 and godmars. Very well, I"ve no right and ability to push my wife using DSLR at the moment. Besides, a cheapest DSLR now availble is around $7xxx. I think DSLR will be depreciated quite faster than SLR. If we acquire a Dynax 7, the "total loss" will just cost us $3~$4 or something similar. But the DSLR will be talking about a two folds or even higher. A stupid thinking that I"m concerned!?
henrykwl 網路會員	5) 2004/08/23 16:31 Thanks 香港至NET超人. I also love 120 system, however, my wife cannot burden too heavy equipments. Otherwise, I could give my F4s to her without problem. In addition, 120 system is not too common to be carried around and particularly, for travel workhorse (because of size and weight.) For the case of my wife, she will make use of Minolta DiMAGE Scan Elite II to convert the film images to some decent digital images (under her preception.) Therefore, the instant requirement to switch digital stuff is not a must.

Gowest 網路會員	11) 2004/08/23 21:25 如果你有部F4的話點解唔借俾你太座兩份用呢?倒不如考慮放售MINOLTA所有鏡頭套現好過啦，多多少少都好。正如超人話齋,無謂再投資落135系統度啦，一係就去盡D玩120菲林，你會發現更多。

I would rather use a more simple but stupid way right now for good quaility photo and digitalization. I will buy a 2400dpi or 3200dpi scanner. Then take the roll for development and scan it to digital photo of 8M to 14M pixel. I can print 12R large photo by film to obtain high quality photo. Here are some advantage: 1. No need to print all photo => save money 2. Digitalized photo for sharing and storage. 3. Having high d-range digital photo (digcam can"t do it) 4. Reduce space for photo storage 5. No need to paid for high price wide angle lens (1.6X DSLR) 6. Overall upgrade cost is only around$2000 Also some disadvantage: 1. Flatbed scanner quality is not so good but cheap, film scanner quality good but expensive. 2. waste time to scanner film 3. waste time to edit, colour tone...........
*香港至NET超人* 網路會員	13) 2004/08/23 23:18 當DSLR係相機, 你唔會投資, 當係菲林就唔同, 唔通你會因為將來有更好菲林而現在不買? 我買DC/DSLR就是抱呢個心態, 它就是菲林, 要用就要買, 不是用來再代真正的化學菲林吧. 至於質素, 攝影就是為了質素而攝? 玩LOMO及玩具機咪好傻??

My answer now is DSLR film is too expensive with poor quality compare to film. So I will use chemical film, until one day DSLR film is close to chemical film in pic quality and price. Therefore no conflicts on film user and DSLR user, since everyone is holding a different ruler to measure their investment.
neofung 網路會員	15) 2004/08/23 23:36 Digital SLR既dynamic range或解像度, 某程度上已超越Film SLR, DSLR寬容度可能冇負片咁好, 但要將係負片入面既資料攞返晒出黎, 又係咪咁容易呢? 但用數碼相機呢方面肯會方便容易好多.
*香港至NET超人* 網路會員	16) 2004/08/23 23:42 我唔認為DSLR既質素差, 在ISO400或以上, DSLR比菲林加FILM SCANNER, 完全係DSLR既世界. SENSOR科技一日千里, 最貴的22MPIX背, D-RANGE係12級光圈, 比任何菲林都要大, 問題反而是輸出, 谷限於8BIT器材, 質素就有所限制. 隨著SLIDE都要用數碼輸出, 菲林的所謂大D-RANGE, 其實是那高光位壓縮所置, 你認為是美, 其實是失真, 相比之下, SENSOR的線性及色準, 就是菲林所難以比美.

neofung 網路會員	18) 2004/08/24 00:10 例如Sigma SD10既Photo Pro 2.0既Fill Light功能, 可以好容易推高原始RAW data既dynamic range. 其他DSLR既RAW file都有軟件做到呢類功能, 可能要加Mask慢慢卒, 但我諗會比較係黑房做容易. 影靜物的話, 仲好多影多幾張唔同曝光, 之係係Photoshop加Make慢慢卒或用其他third party plug-in. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sigmasd10/page12.asp 兩年前左右原本想買部好少少既film scanner, 淨係影slide學影相, 但考慮過效率實在太慢, 用數碼相機係可以快好多, 當然自己有冇能力消化到又係另一個問題. 但呢幾排又想學返少少傳統黑房技巧知識, 因為暫時既數碼攝影技術, 似乎都係由存統攝影演化出黎, 我始終有啲嘢唔係好明白點解, 可能就係中間欠缺咗係東西!
