yes,我明白NIKON的ED大致上等如CANON的UD。而"L"是包含UD、SuperUD、FL、研削式非球面鏡片。NIKON標上"ED"的都是較為高級的鏡，CANON標上"L"的也是較為高級的鏡。我是想知道是否一樣帶給用家門一個畫質/色彩/品質肯定?白點說是NIKON標上"ED"比較"腩"；還是CANON標上"L"太嚴謹？
得罪各位...

I agree that L lens may be the best among the zoom at simiarly ranges, but if your reason of 迷戀"L"鏡 is for the resolution, then I should suggest you to go to the prime. |

L means a lot of things besides optics. There"s build quality, handling, etc...so don"t just focus on the image quality because it isn"t "everything". |

I think people have tried to rationalize things which aren"t exactly compariable. Canon, Minolta and Pentax label their high end lenses as L, G and * respectively, while Nikon makes no such distinction. Now even mid-low end Nikkors have ED elements (or so they claimed). Also, regular lenses do not neceassily mean inferior quality, just not techanically special enough to carry such labels. I"d say "real" photohgraphers should not get too hook to this game. |

I believe those things at first...(Like Asphereical lense, ED lens, etc)
But basically is the trick of firms to make more profit.

The Pentax * (green) is not indication of a special good lens.
It is a label of using a special ground glass type only. There
are dog lens in green* series, like SMC-A300/4.
ED of Nikon is also just an indication of using ED glass. There
are low price stuff using it, like AF70-300ED.
These special lens element may result in better optical performance
than general same range of lens. But than, you can"t compare apple
to orange.
By the way, if you need better optical forget Zoom is the first
step.

If your reason for buying the lens is for build quality, handling etc, then L lens would be good. I just emphasis that if your reason for buying L lens is for resolution, then I agree superman that you should change to the prime.
For me, the reasons for buying lens could be divided into two: one is for use -- which means that I would put my emphasis on resolution. In this case, I would choose prime.
The other one is for collection. No need to say, I would choose L lens.

For sure is that I am just talking about the optics or optical performance of the lens.
I am not saying that you could not take good photos without good lens. |

NIKON大部份手動鏡都冇ED鏡片，短過180mm的都沒有，唔通就冇高級鏡。 |
