不怪得個標題好像看過…中學生們，將攝影當興趣無妨，但現在在香港經濟還境下還是充實自己是比較重要… |

錢，對於中學生學／玩攝物固然係一個問題。但我覺得時間反而係最大既問題。
好多人會覺得覺得學生有好多假期，三、四點就放學，大得時間。岩！F.4之前丫嘛。
F.4之後呢？噢！慘啦！大把功課、背默（中文）、Quiz、Test等，每日平均上四、五科、總會有三、四份功課，一份功課一粒鐘起碼、一個星期起碼有兩、三次中文背默，每次背書快則半粒鐘、狀態唔好隨時粒幾鍾。我讀理科，唔知文科乜野環境，Phy、Chem、Bio每個星期座底一次Quiz，夾埋三次。各科平均每兩、三個星期就一次Test，即係話一個星期平均有兩個Test，仲要交Lab. Report，一個星期一、兩份。放假前後就考試，放假果震番平日學補課，番屋企就做Pass Paper或者街買既考試練習，考完試派完卷仲要將份卷做多次當功課交。平均每日番屋企之後仲要做多六、七粒鐘絕對閒事。八小時睡眠？天才就有！
「傑」呢！未算呀！去到A-level仲勁呀！讀五科、科科每星期起碼有一次Test，Pure/Apply Maths可以一題數Test成堂。Under TAS Scheme，Bio同Chem一星期夾埋兩個Lab，一個Lab做成個下晝，去到Lab度先知做乜Experiment、要即場埋諗、即場design、即場做、即場交完整既Report，內容要有Introduction、Apparatus、Methodology、Results、Interpretation & Conclusion同埋Disscusion。我讀Pure Science，科Bio先「傑」呀，成個A-level Bio摺「碌屎」三尺高！75gram既A4紙喎！呀Sir堂堂上堂就響度「數銀紙」。仲未計課外活動要揹果的Post喎！我果震時一日平均「目訓」得四粒鐘，唔係我特別勤力﹝事實我有六成半既時間的Test、Exam係肥佬），我淨係要「睇」晒果日上堂教過既野就己經要四、五粒鐘，交埋的功課、Test溫書，我凌晨一點有得撻落床已經好偷笑、通常都要兩、三點先有「目訓」。考試果輪直頭晚晚通頂，有時連涼都唔得閒沖。
你話勒，邊有時間影相丫！

我都明白F5或以上的學生的苦處,自己也活在F5之中.
我現在有時間,都會一個人去影相.兼顧得到學習之餘,我都很享受攝影為我帶來的樂趣.
其實學校生活中,幫幫學校影相,也是中學生攝影的一種途徑.或許有人說影學校的"排排企,等拿獎"的相很悶.但是要影好,也不容易.我不知影了多少張這樣的相了.首先構圖要穩,注意被攝者的表情,控制廣角鏡的變形等都是要決,要在混合光源下使用閃光燈獲得標準的暴光,都要很有經驗.有些事情,看似簡單,但要做得好,也不容易呀.從使學校有Nikon D1 SLR +SB-80DX,最先進的 3D TTL,在這樣的環境下,當傻瓜機用,一定很難得到好的暴光.
雖然我幫台上的同學影相,算不了甚麼偉大的事情,但儘量做得好,對得住人,也對得住自己. |

言之有理,越普通的相片越難影得好,不小心的話,成日都會見到好多cut腳的情況(普遍來說,好多人影團體相時的目光太過集中在上半身及面貌,不太留意下半身)....... |

i feel happy when i read so many youth guys like to take photo
and find the way to take photo
but something make me confuse
if u really like to take photo so much
why still need to study in the stupid and rubbish education?
will u to be a biologist? a historian?
if not, why need to study in this subjects?
and spend the golden-time...........................
i believe u both like take photo more than study
then u must go to take photo
try to be a photographer or another visual artist
go to read about the art book
go to study art
dont say no time to take photo
when i was youth, i also fuck the rubbish education face to the teachers, i drop my all subjects since form 2
when i finished F.5, i go to study in photography at once
what will u do? |

I think you know yhat the enviorment of HK is absolute different from UK, right? I know that two of my favourite photographer such as Joe Cornish and Charlie Watie can make their hobbies as their career. On the other hand, I know that there are a lot of people in UK also can be photographers because there are a lot of chance to give people to show their art to public like magazines, newspapers, art gallery ect. And they have a lot of career which include photography. So they can make their hobbies to be career easily. Otherwise, back to HK. There are diffcult to find an ideal job now! I come to UK to study Aerospace Engineering because my dream is want to be an Engineer in the future, I think that if I still stay in HK, I dream will not ture, right?

yup, i dont like work in HK too
but i tried to live in UK and US alone
then i got the mind, "where is my home".......
and i just talked with a girlfriend last night
she just started to be a freelance photographer to take photo with some magazines (HK)
and said cant enough to alive
i just want to tell her that i also tried as her,
sometimes i also cant enough to alive, i'm still fighting too.....
but i didnt tell her
cos i dont want to tell her

There may be another challenger even someone take photography as a career ... Under that situation, the works may be also limited by commercial factors, client's requirement, etc. There will be more time for one to take part in photography, but also have some other limitations. -------------------- http://www.eyescoffee.com |

In Canada, my pressure seems not that big as HK.
I am now studying the last year of secondary school, yet the pressure is not small. I got to get into good university.....>.<
But somehow the completition is very big...
I got to work very hard...but I always play and atch comic.
Because school had not much homework to do.
but there are projects and assignments.
Also, tests per months on 3 kind of maths....
Anyway, Canada, not much to take photo.....
But I got a good and sufficient life indeed...^^

Dear Raymond,
After I read your words, it recalled my memory.
I like to share with you some of my experience. I started taking pictures around Form 2 to 3, I remember my first camera is Canon,
I forgot the model name; I only know it is very heavy (all Stainless Steel). Later I started using my father's new toy FM2 with a 35 -70 lens. I was admired people using 80-200 mm lens, and I buy a sigma later on.
Old days I go to central and develope my film, it is around 64 cent each. Around $60 and can have fun for a day.
Equipments do not help me improving my pictures but limit myself. It is not difficult to take picture for girl with tele lens, blur the back ground and let the subject stand out. After many years, I became
sick of my pictures, as the style is too similar.
I stop taking pictures when I studied in Canada, as I had to work part time job and go to school at the same time. Printing and film development is very expensive there.
I pick up my camera again is my point and shoot GRS1, with 28mm len it enlarge my view, I will not limit myself in any specific lens.
I start to read some photo magazines and books, (go to Page one and stay there for half a day and read some good photo book) and try to understand exposure. It is fun when you dig deep in a subject.
Today, financially allow me to buy my new camera and lens (I am using F80) but I have less time due to work and just marry.
Anyway, don't let the tools limit your imagination.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
As a secondary student,I am not very rich. I try my best to save my pocket money to take photos.
However,I am really very busy with my studies.I will sit for HKCEE next year. My teachers have asked me not to spend too much time on photography. Of course,they hope I can get more As in HKCEE.
Time is not enough,but I will enjoy photography.

I think that this is a good new for everybody who like photogarphy, because more new face to give out message, that mean photography become more popular, more young to do it, I think that this is much better than go to do other stupid things. More young people like photography, this subject will have more and more new idea to everybody, and they will generate us to make more good photo to each other...does anybody agree or disagree with my point? |

To all,
Whatever you treat photography as an ideal career or an interest. A basic art study and trainning is a must. Go take time to having a course or read some books regards to art history and aesthetic. It's worth to do, 'cos photographers need aesthetic mind to viewing a different view than ordinary people, and aesthetic minds may courage you to make and take better photos. All kinds of visual art need aesthetic mind to make creativity portfolios.
Although I won't agree with what Clockwork said that to spend all of your time to study art and take pictures. I will encourage you young people to spend a little bit of time from your daily living, to study more.
It's not only can improve your pictures whenever you take, but also, it will change you mind to have a view of impressive things in the whole world wide and change your daily life to a high quality spiritual living.
COME ON!! GET UP AND DO IT!! DON'T JUST WASTING YOUR TIME BEYOND YOUR MONITOR. |

自中二開始，我便擁有自己的第一部單鏡反光機，
當時用了近二千元去買了Nikon FM-10連35-70鏡，
把戶口的錢都花光啦...
很多時候，同學甚至現在的女友都會嫌我部單鏡反光麻煩，太大部...
出國旅行時，要用閃光燈時就得要計數，花上一分鐘時間，
加上暗黑之下對焦困難，最後往往花上兩三分鐘左右才拍得到，
但很多不知好歹的人...等了一分鐘就已經不停催我...
往往使我不能專心，計錯數、對焦失準等事就容易發生，
我自問用用FM-10加閃光燈拍靜物時，八成以上都沒有問題...
最後我屈服了，現在多買一台F80D，要拍記錄照時，
就用A或S MODE，自己有空創作時就拿出我那FM-10來拍...
畢竟，FM-10已經陪伴我七年多了...
跟她走過不少路，嚐過不少失敗，也跟她初嚐到成功，
路要一起走，就是要一份執著，一份堅持。 |

I 100% agree with you, that the linkage of photo images to art, asethetic, etc. That is another big world behind the photo image, if we do not only concentrate on the question 'is it beautiful or not ? is it with correct exposure ? is it sharp enough ? ....' There are other important values that can be achieved through images (like you mention spiritual !) Otherwise, we can only stop at the surface level of the image. Please note that the Master Photographers, not often talk about camera and lens, but the most important is the content and idea of the images. It is execiting to see people keep on replying to this message.
