對不起, 這是Herchong兄替我貼的相片資料, 我也搞亂了, 有點錯唔, 這次沒有錯了:
1. 200/3.5 Supra100,
2. 58/1.4 Supra100,
3. 300/4.5 Gold100,
4. 135/2.8 Supra100,
5. 200/3.5 Gold100,
全部都是用MC鏡, Konica Golden Dragon Paper;
第一張是我最初試用Supra時試的, 當日正掛起台風, 反差不很好, 但也是唯一次用Supra影的荷花.

Personally after having and used all the MC & MD 85mm, I would say the 85 Varisoft is among the worst choice in performance; But then for collector value; its right up there.
The old Fujica 85 soft focus is better IMHO .... or the 100/2.8 Soft AF from Minolta ...

你問的三款相紙中, Fuji最少也有四五年沒有用過了, 所以也不便回答. 因為如果找到一間合意的沖晒公司就很少再到處試.
在比較彩色物料時, 我喜歡比較彩色色譜與灰階兩方面的質素分量與平衡.
柯達普通紙在這兩方面都明顯比Royal紙薄, Royal紙除了兩方面都較厚外, 灰階是很重而且闊; Konica的金龍相紙的色階是差不多跟Royal紙一樣厚的, 灰階比Royal薄, 反差沒有那麼強烈.
我應為Royal的效果很接近正片, 但金龍紙則比較自然醇和. |

我看, 兩款柯達紙的灰階都是輕微地比色階重的.
而Konica刖相反.
我這五張相片全是用Konica紙的, 只是3R大, 你們應為效果如何?

If you can, you can refer to the text book written by Toshinobu Ogura " Tghe BAsics & Development of photographic Lens " 1995 ( ISBN 4-257-12012-6. On Page 198 to 200, he refer to this MC Varisoft 85/2.8 and explain the effect and control of soft focusing.
Mind that, this Book is in Japanese and are the Classic Camera series No.2 from Asahi Classic ...
Basically it explain that the Soft settinjg is putting the originally correted Spherical abbration to off from correction towards the Neg value ( Background Blur ) and the curve significantly sharper once stop down around 1.5 to 2 stop. Same concept for Nikkor DC lens but they have setting towards the Positive and Negative value
This is common among all soft focus lens but achived differently via different means. The best trial on this is set up a controlled scene with a forground details, subject , & background details ( should include bright reflective or lights, dard objects and details line objects to give you a sense of how it behave ). Then take photo sequence under same lightning using different f/stop and different Soft setting. Mind that you should look at how the forground detail looks also as when the setting goes up, the forground can take on some abbration which usually render as donut ( not desirable in most case ). And you might notice pattern of softness in the scene ( again not so desirable )
To get a good soft effect with this lens, I usually photo with a weakest power Softon filter + set to 1 ( never to 2 or more ) and photo at 3.5 to 4.5. This blur out the distracting detail and give the Halo effect without too much. And the softon homogenize the scene better.
At 0 setting, the lens is quite sharp and resolve ok, but I think its lacking in tonal render and too contrasy, while setting anything towards 3 destroy the correction. So for me, this lens really do not warrant its high price. |

對，我試過柔焦效果大概只有F5.6或更開的時候才有效
設在1的效果最自然，但有時候並不明顯
3的效果就時全部糊了...
一般正常狀況下他倒是還蠻銳利的
CANON FD 85 SOFT比它更稀有，只是不知道效果如何，EBAY價格倒是高於MINOLTA這支...
至於PENTAX那支鼻組鏡頭我還沒親眼見過 |

- PENTAX那支鼻組鏡頭 -guess you mean the 85/2.2 SMC-Soft. I have this lens at its almost always set at 4.0 and just used for grab shoot of flowers. Of course its performance cannot be compared with later lens as its atrue soft focus lens ( no sharp setting ) and all manual only.
