I hope it's misunderstanding.
Over the phone, they said no stock is kept for this lens. Maybe, they might change their mind if there are enough orders (it's unlikely for such expensive lens). |

沒錯，在D7之前出爐的像機全都不能自動對焦！只因SSM是需要晶片補助，而D7之前的型號全都沒有...所以啦....唉....幸好minolta答應免費改裝D9....要不然兄弟我就要哭了...... |

It is unfortunate that Minolta can't/don't support "older" models. In fact, the same situation happens to Nikon users as well. Their support for manual lens & VR lens backward compatibility is different among different generations of SLR. From no VR to no auto-focus ...
Maybe, it is not cost effective to offer the modification or they're trying to force you to upgrade.
BTW, the upgrade for D9 seems also including ADI flash control (not sure).

從原廠網站的說明，看來D9對應SSM之後多了：1.DMF,2.ADI測光（搭配D鏡手動對焦時變成14區測光）。 |

Just confirmed: HK Minolta will NOT provide free upgrading of Dynax 9 for SSM lens, owners of D9 need to pay around HK$1k for upgrading if they want to use SSM lens and it will take at least a week to do it.
I wonder why they don't sell upgraded Dynax 9 (of course in modified price) after releasing SSM lens? |
