鳥............: 100-400mm zoom

Yes, it really depends on what you mean about 一鏡走天涯.

In my opinion, 一鏡走天涯的定義是: 進可攻,退可守,質素高,日夜都能手持拍攝. So that"s why I recommend 50/1.4.  It has the following advantages:

(1) prime lens: good quality
(2) large aperture: you can use it even at night without tripod (of course you have to use > ISO 400 film)
(3) suitable weight: not easy to hand shake (28-300 may 頭重腳輕)
(4) It has relatively short focus distance (if you use extension tube, it can give you good macro function)
(5) It can train you to have a good sense in the relationship between angle of view and the focal length

Just wanna share my experience.  Welcome all ideas.

不如買一個有 10 倍光學變焦的 dc 仲好啦... o 記又得, p 記又得...

攝影是要有配合的, 不計算攝影師的功力, 那好的機身, 應有好的鏡頭, 再加上好的菲林, 就會成象好啦...

xtra400本身是很好用菲林,微粒真的一流!可以全天候使用!!價錢又不貴,不如買筒親身試試先! ^^

28-300mm,建議選用400度菲林,因為它的tele焦段的光圈太細,若果手持拍照,要用上1/250或更高的快門值,那時一定要xtra400啦!況且,收細光圈至f8/f11左右,可以提升晝質麻....

  If you said that XR lens is a amateur lens and cannot get good result from professional films . So, what is your suggestion for a better lens which being used with F80 body and can get the good result from the pro. film ? AF 28-105 D... AF 24-120 VR.... ?? Or a 135 F2 or ......?  Like 80-200 F2.8 VR....... too expensive la.

我就買左支Sigma 28-300 Macro.
主要原因係比Tamron平成千, 呢支鏡主要係求方便, 太貴好似唔值.

It all depends on what your purpose is. If you need convenient and handy gears, then (tamron/sigma/tokina) wide range zooms should be your choice. However if you need large scale of enlargement with fine grains, then your suggestion is correct: use LD/ED....zooms, which are heavy and bulky. One more point is that you should not expect the pros to "wander around the world with ONE lens". Besides fine grains, colour retention, professionals also treat distortion is a serious weakness in their outcome. Therefore they would not use a wide to tele zooms at all. They may use prime lenses (fixed focal lenses or different zooms of e.g. 17-35, 35-70. 70/80-200.... etc) Of course, there must be exception. Didn"t you see that a big brother has said, "I shoot pro film even with my fungi lenses...."
(Sorry, I am not a professional. I am just an amateur who takes photos just for fun. So the words above are just obtained from journals/magazines or the comments form the pros. I may be wrong.)
