kuankuoyun2002,你在作夢吧。sb800用在d100上,會比sb80dx用在d100上好用?d100根本不支援i-ttl,心理作用比較多吧。

Nikon SB800 What a terrific surprise here. This flash is significantly better than it"s predecessor - the sb80 - which performed well too. This is a small, tough, ready to roll unit with just the right amount of features. Here"s an oddity - this flash in it"s AUTO mode on a Canon 10D, actually outperforms the Canon 550EX flash by a wide margin. http://www.willcrockett.com/infocenter/wc031.htm |

Introduction + high ISO D100 pictures (large and long) Posted by Patrizio I am a very happy D100+MB-D100 user and realized everyday how much digital photography has, in my case, revolutionized the approach towards this wonderful art, offering a multitude of creative opportunities. Never been touched by the problems of lack of sharpness or noise at high ISO at the formats I usually print, or probably just perceived quality in a cocoon of performances that I personally believed to be already hard to beat. The following photos were taken at the V&A museum in London last week. Some areas were so dark it was almost hard to see things with bare eyes while some other rooms offered challenging exposure and DR situations that nevertheless the D100 was able to cope with decently. I had with me the inexpensive 18-70 and a trusty 50mm f1.8 using the camera almost fully in Auto mode, aperture priority as usual for me and a custom curve I prepared in NC; no flash, high ISO in many instances (640-1250) in a sort of test of what this combination is still able to offer with results that seemed to me still acceptable. Files have just been rescaled, curves slightly open, very low USM in photoshop (30 to 40 - 1 - 2) Comments/critique more than welcome, Patrizio http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1021&message=11232937 |

Updated custom tone curves increase DR Posted by fotogenetic I"ve updated all the custom tone curves on my website and changed the name of the "White Wedding" custom tone curve to "Point and Shoot" to more closely reflect its purpose I also found that by changing the shoulder end of all the curves, I could pull out highlight details that are usually only available to you if you use RAW. The custom tone curves can now hold up to 1/2 of a stop more DR when compared to adding EV compensation. Keep in mind, however, that this extra information is compressed so it is hard to see, especially in resized for the web images. It"s better to compress information in the highlights than it is to compress midtones like many other curves do. Here"s the description: Updated 2004-Nov-28 PURPOSE The custom tone curves available here were calibrated precisely to increase the brightness of D100 and D70 images by the equivalent of either +.33 EV or +.5 EV but with less risk of blown highlights than if you were to actually set EV compensation in the camera. These curves were designed to get the resulting tonality of a gray card, using all metering methods available, to equal medium gray, thus improving the tonalty of properly metered subjects. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1021&message=11239667 |

I didn"t test these as rigorously as previous curves, however, I didn"t need to because they are exact replicas of the previous v3.5 v3.4 curves except for the extreme shoulder end. So all the tests I did for the previous curves apply. I did test them each with approximately 50 or so shots to make sure the histograms matched and the color was not off. I used both flash and no flash to test. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1021&message=11242607 |

Keep in mind these are meant to be compared to EV comp Posted by fotogenetic When evaluating these curves, keep in mind that they are meant to be an alternative to EV compensation which many people use to correct dark images. Compared to using EV compensation, these curves hold much more highlight information with the same brightness in midtones. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1021&message=11245287Removing Provia Curves Posted by fotogenetic After doing many comparisons over a period of a year, I"ve concluded that in high contrast situations, no curve can match the color accuracy of the low contrast curve with +0.33 EV permanently set. The Provia curve was an attempt to recreate the low contrast curve with EV compensation, however, I haven"t been able to find the key to imitating that curve. It seems different somehow than all the other curves. I will discontinue the Provia curve from my website and put it in the archive files for those who still find use for it. As for myself, I will be keeping the Point and Shoot curve loaded in my camera for medium to low contrast lighting situations and using low contrast +.33 EV compensation in high contrast lighting. This combination seems to cover most lighting situations well. I will still conduct tests on the Point and Shoot and EV3 curves this week. They are still much better than using EV compensation without any changes in color or inconsistency in contrast. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1021&message=11245669 |

Suggested usage for curves Posted by fotogenetic Someone asked me to post this earlier and I"ll probably post it on my website if I have time. In my experience, curves are best used along with the default curves depending on the lighting situation. Here"s my suggested usage: Outdoors sunny (high contrast): Best results obtained using low contrast curve with minimal EV compensation if any (+.33 EV at most). Outdoors overcast (low contrast): Best results using EV3 or Point and Shoot curves with no EV compensation. Using flash really adds a surreal look to images also. Indoors flash (medium contrast): Good results with EV3 or Point and Shoot curves. Low contrast curve with +.33 EV works good too if you"re looking for a softer tonality. Low light Best not to use custom tone curves due to possible increase in noise in dark areas. Use default tone curves with EV compensation. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1021&message=11247889 |
