Description
The Leica f/2 Summicron 90 mm lens, called SOOZI (1st version), made in Midland Canada is extraordinarily rare in numbers and in new condition. This one has the original leather case and caps. I am the second owner. The first owner may have used it once and therefore it is in a condition that can easily be described as new. "Mint" just doesn"t come close. The lacquer on the shade gleams so pristine is this unit.
I would like some feedback from someone more knowledgeable than I. My understanding is that in total there were ONLY 500 screw mount 90 mm Summicrons ever made, not counting factory conversions of LTN to M mount which are easy to spot if you know what to look for. Of those 500 pieces only a fraction had the removable shade. The rest had telescoping permanently attached shades. How many SOOZIs had the removable shade? 100? Less?
