when you have idea about numbers of the quantity, use the,

there are 5 balls, but I just get 4, in this case , you have to say the other is in the room, but not another, because you are sure how many is left. (this is easy)

use the as this, that (the other, as 1), these, those (the others, as many, and you know how many)

but when you don't know how many are left, use a, an.

there are many balls, I get 4. in the case, you have to say I don't know how many are left, but I can get another if you want.

use a ast one, any,

So, when you say another, means there are many, but you don't know how many, you pick just one and then one other (another),

when you say the other, you are saying there are two, you pick one and left one.

how if there are 3? use the others, there are three, you pick one and the others(two) are left.

the other and others are for this,that and these, those.

another for one other, any other.

I am so afraid to be examined here beyond many of you who are highly educated and who have families are highly educated and some of you are highly counted as good teachers.

but funny thing is that the terms of using another and the other are much easier than to explain it,
