In this circustance, the NEFs don't just disappear (and you wouldn't want them to). When you select to "Save As" JPEG, check to see where the files are being saved. Chances are, your files saved as JPEGs just fine, but perhaps not where you're looking for them ;-)

Hi,
I had this issue for saving multiple images as JPEG copies. See my thoughts on X at:
http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1034&message=19782990 I have not found a way in NX to process multiple images differently (as distinct from batch processing them in the same way), which NC4 can do, or to copy and resize multiple images as JPEGs, which NV6 can do. Serious omissions for me.

From the Capture NX menu, choose File ~ Open Folder in Browser
In the browser, select the photos you want to save as JPEG
From the menu, select File ~ Save As. . .
Click "Browse" button to set the destination directory (i.e., where you want the new JPEGs saved)
Choose whether or not you wish to keep the file name of the NEF or create some new format
Select file format "JPG"
Choose "Excellent Quality" (or whatever you want)
Click "Notify when completed" if you want to get a pop-up box when the batch is done
Click "Start" button

Thanks again John, it worked.
I've been shooting JPEG's 99% of the time until I purchased NX. I notice when I compare the converted JPEG file to Raw on the computer it looks the same in NX but different in Nikon View. Any explanation?
