High quality film scanners can be a low cheaper than DSLRs, but scanning is quite time consuming which is the major reason people prefer DSLRs. And it is true that the lack of noise is a major advantage of DSLRs over scanned images. |

我會想兩個問題: 1) digital file 少 noise, 傳統的film/paper影像由微粒產生, digital file 要出相, 到頭來都是由film paper的微粒產生(包括home printer). 2) 在網上展示digital file, 要容易俾viewer睇到full frame, pixel size 唔會大, under 1000 pixel, 影得好少少, DSLR file 同 film to digital 都無 noise. 硬班班比較兩者, 重要嗎? 影像內容重要些吧 ^_^ http://www.paulkcy.com/small.jpghttp://www.paulkcy.com/big.jpg當然, 自己沖, 自己晒, 自己做的黑房影像會最美麗! Not that meaningful to compare as DSLR is a shooting gear while scanner (of any kinds) is a after shooting gear.
If you need a lot digital film, no doubt DSLR/DC is a low better than film scanner in terms of processing speed and after purchase supply. But, if you need absolute quality than anything else, film with film scanner is a better choice.

會有幾個問題:
1. 印poster, 印幾大?
2. 本身有無film camera?
3. 如有, 是135, 120 or 4x5?
4. 預算用幾多錢買器材? |

業餘性質主要喜歡放上網share/在電腦觀看，還是愛晒相/追求放幻燈又或是愛在燈箱看？
我喜歡後者，正負片哂相也總比digital拿去晒靚得多。
我也會用film/flabted scanner把相放在網或send給朋友。 |

IMO, if you want to buy a film scanner such as Minolta Scan Dual IV or the better one 5400, it costs you over 3K-5K more. For this kind of budget and to some more, you can buy a 300D.
For this condition, and assume that you have already had many Canon lens, I will buy a 300D or 10D instead of film scanner.
Just my opinion. :-) |

Definitely go for DSLR.
Think about: DSLR capture the scene directly.
Scanner is second capture level(it will lose some information)
If you really need a film scanner to match DSLR, it will cost so much. the output quality from Minolta Scan Dual IV cannot match to DSLR. Only Imacon, or Drum scanner can do it. Also, you may experience dust problem when scanning film. And you must shoot slide for high resolution.
So.....go for DSLR. Save time, save money, help you learn. |

If the criteria is quality in an image and information / detail and definition .... Film scanner had better result ( after all, they can multi sampling and had wider bit rate inb the digitization ).
Both will only give quality result with proper post exposure work. |

1. 印A3是DIY home printer定是拎出去做? DIY printer 你好難對到色.
2. A3 的 DSLR 好貴, 當然可以用600萬DSLR谷大出, 而600萬DSLR預7-8k.
3. 是否印好多poster? 不仿考慮用film出11"x16"大相好過. 計埋計埋分分鐘平過你買新器材.
4. 影開正片or負片? Film scanner對負片還色能力不好, 唔熟output techni好難做到.
5. Film scanner速度我自己是可以接受, 一般我只會scan low res, 約30秒一張, 一筒菲林會有3至4張會scan high res, 5400dpi, 約15分鐘per image.
6. 無論film scanner又好, DSLR又好, 要質素高, 貴係好正常, A3 digital file 以300dpi計已是高解影像, 要好, 就要貴. |
