if the lenses and camera are really wet, water come out faster in open space than a dry box. fungi need warm and wet environment to growth. Dry box is quite warm in gerneral. It promote fungi to growth if it cannot dry the camera or lenses fast enough. better open air first, then dry box.
if it is not that wet, put in dry box immediately is ok.
and never use a hair drier.
